DC Congress 2014 - AC / DC: a matter of TASTE?

The usage of DC in high voltage transmission is well known and has been growing steadily for applications in bulk transmission over long distances and submarine links between countries. Application of DC distribution at low and medium voltage is hardly used. But is this going to change? Current developments give us cause to reconsider the choice made at the time of AC. Are we on the eve of the arrival of DC? There are enough reasons to take a critical look at our distribution grids. Does it still satisfy our current needs, is it still the most efficient? Should we continue to follow Tesla or is Edison, in favor of DC distribution, winning the argument in these modern times?

From AC to DC?

During the conference "AC / DC is a matter of taste?" on January 30, we are taking up the discussions. Knowledge will be shared, positions backed, and cooperation sought. Do not miss it. We are on the threshold of a new era in which we need to look at energy consumption as well as for energy generation, management and distribution of renewable energy. Is our current power grid still up to it or is it time to switch to a new electricity infrastructure and do we need to consider a phased transition to DC?

We are going to discuss the following:

Does our current knowledge create new opportunities for DC?

Is there increasing profitability with DC?

Is there more energy savings with DC?

Does DC regulate a better matching of supply and demand?

Does the results of the DC testing area in Haarlemmermeer bring about new trends?

Interests of this conference?

This conference is especially interesting for operators, stakeholders, area developers, employees and students of technical colleges and universities, (local) governments and influencers, sustainable development companies and energy suppliers.
In the program DC applications on voltage levels HV/DC, MVDC and LV/DC will be discussed.

Where and when?

On Thursday, January 30th, 2014 from 9:30 am to 19:00 pm (includes dinner buffet) at TU Delft (Technical University of Delft).

€ 285,- excl. 21% VAT.
